The following are transcripts of escape reports submitted to M.I.9. A considerable number of their reports refer to evaders, such as aircrew who were shot down behind enemy lines, but who managed to find their way to friendly or neutral territory without being captured at any stage. As fascinating as these accounts are, sadly they do not relate to the subject matter of this website and so only those involving individuals who were, however briefly, taken prisoner have been included. Some of the reports coincide with those of others, and rather than repeat the same story they are linked by lines such as "from here my story is the same as..."; in such instances, these have been included with the report which contains the main narrative.
