From Servigliano they went on foot to Commananzo, Ascoli where Source was turned back by peasants who would not give him food. From there they went to San Benedito. They were guided by a Lieutenant to the beach and then had to go back because of firing and confusion. They stayed at a farm for six days and then with the aid of the officer (working for "A" Force) they procured a boat and arrived at Termoli on 13 Nov 1943.
