1. Capture.
Source was captured, after being wounded at DAMVILLE at 1630 hrs on 9 Jun 44, by superior enemy forces whilst attempting to rejoin his own Unit. Source had been dropped 14 miles from the Dropping Zone.

4. Release by Allied Troops.
Enemy troops evacuated the Hôpital de la Pitié, PARIS, taking the majority of walking wounded with them on 18 Aug 44. F.F.I. and French Resistance doctors took control of the hospital on 19 Aug 44. Source was liberated by American Troops on 28 Aug 44.

APPENDIX C.
SHOOTING.
After being wounded Source witnessed the shooting (not fatally) of two British Paratroopers at DAMVILLE on 9 Jun 44, whilst they were walking with their hands up.
CASUALTIES.
Source was taken to a cave in a hillside on 9 Jun 44 where approximately 25 British Airborne Officers and O.R's. were imprisoned. They had their hands tied behind their backs, and were kept tied up for 20 hours. Source recognised Capt. J.T. WILKS and Sgt. RYDER, Airborne Division Signals attached 3 Parachute Brigade, H.Q. among them.
