The above mentioned Warrant Officer joined Headquarters 6th Airborne Division on its formation and throughout his time has rendered outstanding service.
His work on behalf of the Divisional Troops has been tireless. In all the arduous work of four remobilisations he has never flagged. His tact and devotion to duty have been exceptional.
Sub Conductor Melville is a first class fighting soldier. He parachuted into Normandy at the head of the Ordnance detachment, and gave them a splendid and fearless lead in the recovery of ordnance stores under fire.
In the Rhine crossing he was the sold Ordnance representative to land by air. Here again he showed outstanding gallantry in the collection and issue of stores under fire.
This Warrant Officer's conduct has been of outstanding excellence. He enjoys the complete confidence and respect of all the units he serves.
