A knocked-out Locust tank of the 6th Airborne Armoured Reconnaissance Regiment. The tank, commanded by Lieutenant Kenward, had just left its Hamilcar glider (in the background) and was making its way to assist American paratroopers in an attack on a farm building. In the process the tank was hit by fire from a self-propelled gun, and its crew, two of whom were wounded, were helped out by the Americans. Copyright: Imperial War Museum.
