Army No. : 7364542

During the action on Waterloo Bridge Private Eden was acting as Medical Orderly. He went out many times under machine gun, shell and mortar fire to bring in wounded men. On one occasion Private Eden succeeded in getting wounded men out of a pill box on the bridge under heavy fire from fixed lines. Later he continued his gallant action on the banks of the river under heavy machine gun fire. Towards the end of the action Private Eden was wounded but he continued to render assistance to his wounded comrades until he was no longer able to do so. By his gallantry there is no doubt that this man saved the lives of several wounded men and his bravery was an inspiration to all who fought on the Bridge.
