Prisoner of War Questionnaires

 

The following information has been taken from questionnaires completed by liberated Prisoners of War. The collection is held by the National Archives, catalogue reference WO 344, and it can be viewed on the Ancestry website, https://www.ancestry.co.uk/search/collections/62114/

 

10036 Corporal Mohammed Abdall-Ganim [Named as Abdel-Ghani in Prisoners of War: Armies and Other Land Forces of the British Empire 1939-1945]

        Unit: 602 Company, Pioneer Corps

        Camp: Stalag VC, December 1942 to August 1943

        Sabotage: While at 5C at a furniture factory, completely put a machine out of working order. Was court martialled by Germans.

        Notes: On several occasions I was threatened to be put into straff and given no food because of refusing to work.
