re:- General state of clothing and boots at Stalag IV/G, Oschatz.

 

We thank you for your letter of the 3rd April 1944, reference 2166/34/23(b), in which you draw our attention to the report of the representative of the Protecting Power on the 48 work detachments of Stalag IV G, Oschatz, in which report it is stated that, in almost every case, the general state of clothing and boots is very bad and it is essential that supplies should be supplied from Geneva at an early date.

 

We would like to point out that this camp was opened in the latter part of October or early in November 1943, and that since its opening the following articles of clothing have been despatched to the camp, the strength of which, at the present time, is 3315 British prisoners of war.
