The photograph is marked on the rear as having been taken at Camp 173, a small farm at Oschen in Poland. 3058449 Private Lewis Henry "Harry" Ward is in the centre of the back row. Born on the 19th June 1918, he was captured at Saint-Valery-En-Caux on the 13th June 1940, with the 4th Battalion The Seaforth Highlanders, 51st Highland Division. He spent the remainder of the war at Stalag XXB, POW number 14337, and survived the Long March. He died on 22nd February 1997. See also 1, 2. The writing on the rear is faded but an Anthony Parkinson (surname uncertain) appears to be first from the right on the back row, Jim Bettison is first from the right on the middle row, and first and second from the left on the front row are Henry Saunders (surname uncertain) and Arthur Coombs.
