On 6th June 1944 at Benouville 0974 (France 7F/2), as a stretcher bearer attached to "A" Company [unreadable], he worked unceasingly throughout the day, under heavy fire, in recovering wounded.

On one occasion he crawled [unreadable] back from his position, under fire and in the open, to obtain replenishments of medical supplies.

He showed a complete disregard, at all times, for personal danger, his one thought being the accomplishment of his task.
