Facing north-west from beneath the Bridge, taken in 1935. To the right of the pillar, the white building was used as 2nd Parachute Battalion Headquarters during the Battle, whilst the larger building to the right was occupied by 1st Parachute Brigade Headquarters. The buildings to the left of the pillar housed a mixture of the 9th Field Company, Battalion Headquarters and Support Company, Glider Pilots and the 1st Airlanding Anti-Tank Battery. Larger image.
