"Oosterbeek Church. This plaque, inscribed with The Airborne Forces Prayer, is mounted on the wall close to the Alter Font. It was presented by 'Bob' Dixon, a Wireless Operator, who served with 1st Air Landing Light Regiment, R.A. who fought many actions in and around this area during the Battle of Arnhem in September 1944. He illustrated by hand the English version, and his daughter painted the Dutch translation. We had landed together early on the first lift on Sunday 17th September 1944. We never met after the Battle until 'Para 90' , 46 years on! We made a pact to meet at Arnhem on the 50th Anniversary in 1994, but sadly Bob died shortly before this date."
