Andrew "Adie" McKee, of "T" Company, 1st Parachute Battalion, being presented with a gift of a wallet of notes after his return from captivity in 1945. The lady on the left of the photograph is the mother of Lieutenant-Colonel Blair "Paddy" Mayne, the famous SAS officer, who lived nearby. McKee joined the 1st Battalion in May 1941 and served with them in North Africa, Sicily and Italy, and then at Arnhem where he was captured. He stayed in the Army after the War, serving in Palestine until 1948, and then with the British Army of the Rhine until his discharge in August 1949 at the rank of Company Quartermaster Sergeant.
