A portrait of an unknown prisoner of war by Jacques Briot, using walnut oil as a paint. Please get in touch if you can identify the prisoner. Briot was born at Saint-Quentin on the 28th January 1914. Captured at Metz in 1940, he remained in Stalag XIIA until 1944. He became a full-time artist after the war, and died on the 28th February 2007, aged 93. Copyright: Stephen Hyde.
