I was a member of The Parachute Regiment from 1981 to 2003. Serving in an operational capacity, in the Falkland Islands, Northern Ireland (7 tours of duty), Belize (twice), Sierra Leone, Macedonia and Afghanistan. Trained in many varied and diverse environments, usually after carrying out a parachute drop, such as Germany, Canada, Italy, Botswana, Kenya, Egypt, Cyprus and the USA. Took part in several battlefield parachute drops and tours to commemorate actions at Bruneval and Normandy in France and Arnhem in Holland.

In 2003 I became a battlefield tour guide and was lucky enough to conduct tours of a lot of the places that are a feature of this web-site. More than that I have been able to walk the ground with the some of the veterans that fought in those places and in many cases take relatives of those soldiers who were killed in action or have died since and inform them of what they did back in 1944.

I can recommend the following Battlefield Tour Company;
