Every Man An Emperor - Available at Last

IN SEPTEMBER 1944, ten thousand British paratroopers dropped from the sky into German occupied Holland. The townspeople thought liberation had arrived at last, but it was not to be, Arnhem and Oosterbeek were soon enveloped in the maelstrom of war. After nine days of hell there was barely two thousand men left to withdraw, having failed to secure the most northerly bridge over the Rhine that led into Germany.

They were men of the elite British 1st Airborne Division. Many were seeing action for the first time. They came from ordinary everyday lives, and were trained into a highly skilled fighting force, and committed into action by ambitious commanders who ignored vital information that should have aborted the operation.

The story follows three men from being raw recruits to their part in the largest airborne operation ever.

It is a well-research novel taking the reader from the paratroopers' rural Lincolnshire base to the bitterest campaign of the war. It is my tribute to those men in red berets and after clearing my costs I intend to donate to a suitable Veterans' Association.
