Three airborne troops are marched away by German soldiers off the Weverstraat, to the right, in Oosterbeek, Sunday 24th September. Left to right is Private Jimmy Carr (11th Battalion), and Sergeants Harold Cook (2nd South Staffords) and Dave Morris (11th Battalion), and all three men had played a pivotal role in defence of the "Vredenhof" house. This scene has been taken from German film footage, and at the precise moment when this image was captured the group were actually heading north towards British-held territory, but the German on the right was seen to realize this moments later and altered their course eastwards, along the road to the left.
